How do I get started?
The first step is to call for an appointment with one of our surgeons at the Bédard Clinic. On your first visit, you will meet with the doctor for about 30 minutes. The doctor will assess your hair transplant needs and expectations and examine the donor area. The doctor will also describe the surgical procedure and establish a personalized price for you.
Do you charge for the first visit?
A fee of $ 100 applies for the first consultation.
How do I pay?
We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Amex), debit cards, cheques, and cash. When you make an appointment at the Bédard Clinic for a surgical procedure, we ask for a pre-payment of 10% to reserve the surgery room and surgery team; the balance is due on the day of the procedure. Why can’t you transplant hair from one person to another or use artificial hair?
Hair grafts from another person would be rejected by your immune system. Artificial hair transplantation has been tried; unfortunately, it can result in serious infection problems.
How long does the micrograft procedure last?
The micrograft procedure requires 4 to 5 hours. It is performed under local anaesthetic and light sedation. We have a good selection of films you can watch during the procedure. You will also be served a light snack.
What happens when the procedure is over?
Following the follicular micrograft procedure, you leave the Bédard Clinic without a bandage. There will be some redness in the transplant area, which may or may not be noticeable. Due to the medications given for sedation during the transplant procedure, we recommend that someone accompany you home. Following the micrograft procedure, do not drive, lean forward, touch the transplant area, or carry out physically demanding tasks.
